The African Philanthropy forum (APF) in 2016 will bring together leaders from various sectors to discuss cross-cutting solutions tailored against challenges confronting the African continent. This meeting will be held from 17 to 18 October 2016 at the Sofitel Rabat Jardin des Roses. The conference theme will be “bold steps and big bets”. Officials and African leaders from business and social sector will discuss the challenges facing the African continent, including in science and technology, agriculture and food, energy and climate change as well as that of governance.

Among the speakers, we note the presence of political leaders like Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy; and Paulo Gomes of Guinea-Bissau; Business leaders such as Tonye Cole, Co-founder of the Sahara Group, Amina Benkhadra, the CEO of ONHYM (the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines); Leaders in philanthropy such as Tsitsi Masiyiwa of Higher Life Foundation, Zouera Youssoufou of Dangote Foundation, Susan Mboya of Coca-Cola Foundation and Anthony Farr Alan Gray of Orbis Foundation; World figures in culture such as writer and director Uzodinma Iweala and artist Mehdi Qotbi; Stakeholders in the social sector such as Bongi Mlangeni Paul Mbugua, Amma Sefa-Dedeh Lartey and several other innovative leaders and social entrepreneurs.
On this occasion, Ndidi Nwuneli, director of the African philanthropy Forum said: “We welcome the 3rd Annual Conference of the APF in Morocco, an important cultural and political center in Africa.” He added, “The participants in this edition are among the most brilliant thinkers of the continent and the agenda promises debates that are crucial for progress.”
