On the occasion of COP 22, Morocco’s French Institute and the Embassy of France in Morocco, in close collaboration with Moroccan and French NGOs, organized a climate day, October 1, 2016 at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco, which was labeled “COP22”.
On that day, discussions revolved around international cooperation to fight against climate change, the outcome of the COP 21 and COP 22 issues, as well as local initiatives launched by the Moroccan and the French civil society. It was also an opportunity to promote awareness around climate issues, including waste management, rational use of water and electrical resources, the development of alternative local solutions to fossil fuels, awareness to more environmentally friendly practices, environmental responsibility, etc.

The event was open to the public and had particularly targeted the youth, students and pupils who had the opportunity to visit around forty stands of associations, schools, and public institutions. The public was able to participate in several workshops, conferences and round tables.
