National sugar needs coverage rate has risen to close to 50% against 42% in 2014/2015. The area sown for sugar beetroots is 57,600 ha. ”
Sugar beet production reached 4.2 million tonnes. This 17% increase compared to the previous campaign was accompanied by a significant increase in yields that reached 73T / ha to a wealth of 18.1%. Sugar yield per hectare has meanwhile recorded an average of 12 t / ha with 14 T / ha in Doukkala and 13T / ha in Tadla, a level of productivity comparable to that of large sugar beet producers.
According to Cosumar, “these results have had a great socio-economic impact on regions and have increased the income of the farmer by 16% compared to last year.
