Industrial production and the rate of production capacity utilization stagnated in February 2016 compared to the previous month according to Bank Al-Maghrib(BAM). The stagnation of production covers the evolution differences by branches according to the result of the monthly economic survey for February. It registered an increase in mechanics and metalwork, electric and electronics, leather and textile and would have registered a decrease in chemicals and Para chemistry, stated the Central bank. In this conditions the rate of production capacity utilization was at 62%.
Concerning global sales, it registered a decrease, recovering an increase in electric and electronics, a decrease in agriculture and chemicals and Para chemicals and a stagnation in textile and leather and mechanics and metal industry. By destination, foreign experts registered a decrease in February, whereas sales in the local markets were stagnant. On demand, industries declare an increase in orders in February which concerns all the branches except chemicals and para chemicals where the orders continued to fall. The order registry remained in a low level to the normal in all the activity sectors except for Agribusiness where it was at a normal level. For the next 3 months, enterprises globally expect an increase in production and sales in all the activity branches.
