Roca promotes sustainable water management in smart cities. This is the conclusion that comes out from the meeting organized by Roca, on 06 October. A meeting which was attended Roca teams, and those of the, We Are Water Foundation, in a lecture offered by the American architect Martha Thorne, Director of the Pritzker Architecture Price, on the theme “Smart City and Water” .

In the spirit of focusing on the importance of creating a culture on good water management, this meeting, according to Roca, “showcased the work of the, We Are Water Foundation, which has two main objectives : educate the public and organizations to enable equitable development and sustainable management of water resources in the world, and take concrete action to counter the negative effects of the lack of adequate water resources in the areas of infrastructure, education, health and research. ”

In this sense, Xavier Torras, director of, We Are Water, highlighted the main programs of the Foundation in our country. He said, “because children have the right to a healthy lifestyle, We Are Water started in April 2014 a pilot project in the province of Zagora to improve the health and educational conditions of nearly 4,000 children from rural schools. This allowed the establishment of functional health facilities in 19 primary schools, distributed as follows: 4 in Ait Ouallal, 5 in Agdz and 10 in Tamezmoute “.
The meeting also helped to address and debate issues of contemporary architecture, such as “how to improve the lives of people of the most basic physical dimension to the more intangible aspects of human condition? ”
The second highlight of the meeting was the conference of Martha Thorne. This expert, Dean of IE School of Architecture and Design (Spain) and Director of the Pritzker Prize for over ten years, has focused on “large number of changes to the architecture trails, particularly in the context links between building design and water management in major cities, a problem that affects Morocco in recent years. ”
