Abdelkader Amara presented in Abu Dhabi in January 18, the national strategy in the field of renewable energy, during his intervention in the 5th General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
The Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment drew the attention of IRENA on the issue of economic efficiency, stating that it deserves to be discussed, including, interest rates on loans for the financing of renewable energy projects.
He also noted that the implementation of programs and projects in this area remains dependent on other factors, such as regional integration and governance.
To recap, the Moroccan plan dedicated to renewable energy aims at producing 13,000 megawatts by 2020, which will represent 42% of electricity production in Morocco.
It is taking shape in several sites in several regions of the Kingdom, especially in the south and north.
