Above the signing of new training contracts making competency the main aspect of the development strategy of the sector, automotive Eco system continues to expand, acquiring new manufacturers, whereas those present step up. The issue is to anticipate the rise of Renault and the start of PSA facility.
LThe automobile industry is in full rising stage, the eco system put in place by the responsible department has taken effect and multiplication of investments, not forgetting that automobile rose to be the first exporting sector, doubling phosphates and valuable by-products. Morocco seems to be on a good path and even speed up its pace. The automobile sector is not ready to lose it national title of leading exporting sector. It is in this context that covered the exhibition in Tangier on automotive subcontracting. On this occasion, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Commerce and investment industry and digital economy; Larbi Bencheikh general director of Professional Training and Work Promotion office (OFPPT) and Hakim Abdelmoumen, President of Moroccan Association of Automotive industry and commerce (Amica) proceeded in signing two contracts relative to training offers for accompanying auto ecosystems. During this occasion, French parts manufacturers launched investments in production tools, accompanying the rise of the Moroccan auto industry. A Acome, SNOPS…French manufacturers in cleat. E As a matter of fact between Renault Tangier (with is rise in power) and the start of PSA facility, manufactures are becoming more active. New manufacturers continue to flock while others already present, rise. In this wake of the exhibition the responsible ministry launched two new projects that will enrich Tangiers auto ecosystem before Renault. It concerns the construction of a new factory in the Tangier free zone, the first in Africa of the French manufacturer Acome, specialized in auto cable production. With a surface area of 18000m², this new industrial facility, an investment of about 280 Million Dhs (25 Million Euros) and will create 150 direct employments. Its delivery is planned for the fourth quarter of 2016. On the other hand, in the same linen Elalamy presided over the inauguration of the extension of the French Stamping factory SNOP in Tangier. This extension increases the size of the stamping company by 25%, for an investment of more than 75 million Dh (7 Million €). It is destined to anticipate the growth of the factory in line with Renault’s rise in pace, its main client at the same time allowing the integration of new machines.
The leader of the French manufacturer anticipates a supplementary extension and intends to widen the facility’s activity of production of cut and stamped metallic parts using maximum production capacities. Competency, the training’s corner stone, the first execution contract is relative to the training offers to accompany automotive ecosystem. The second is on the governance model of professional training establishments, OFPPT dedicated to automobile.
«This model aims at co-management of these establishments in order to directly implicate industries in the pedagogic process of the training establishment, specifically the identification of courses, module elaborations, internships…», indicated the industry department. This integrated global training is registered under performance contract of automotive ecosystems. It is axed on the relation between the needs of the identified profiles by the ecosystem and professional training between 2015-2020 and on the other hand on development of training by alternating in soft skills. It consists also in the elaboration of a course on “automobile culture”, the co-hosting of training modules by professionals and the development of continuous training. The human resource and competency constitutes a key element in the context of multiplication of new industrial sites with growing needs of specialized profiles and qualified skills. Let’s get back to the series of investments announced which have succeeded each other since the beginning of the year and has left professionals of the sector waiting to carry the national production to 1 million units by 2020.Renault, act II: 20mmdh additional annual revenueThe French car manufacturer signed on the 8 Avril 2016 in Rabat, in the presence of the sovereign, a partnership with Morocco in long term 10MMdh of investment and 50000 employments. This scope project will help anchor more the automobile industry in the Kingdom’s economy with 10 billion dirhams invested by Renault and its suppliers, 50000 new employments, generation of an annual revenue of 20MMdh from sells of parts manufactured locally a local integration rate of 65%.Psa peugeot-Citroën in Kenitra : work begins next summer.With a production of 200000 vehicles and 200000 engines per year. Psa peugeot-Citroën group launches a major project in the Moroccan automobile sector. The French group is plans a new opening in 2019 over an area of 120 ha. The site will require an investment of 6MMdh for an initial capacity of 90 000 vehicles. This new facility in Kenitra opens a considerable opportunity for outfitters. The provisioning by Peugeot in vehicle components and parts produced in Morocco with a volume of more than 10MMdh per year will allow to reinforce the local value chain hence the increase in integration rate to 80%. This project will favor also the emergence of more innovative and performing branches with export promoting perspectives. This major project will bring a precious contribution to the emergence of a new regional industrial pole of automobile excellence.Ecosystem « engines and transmissions » Morocco accesses a « selected»club.In the tightly closed circle of engine conception and construction industries and transmission systems, only 31 manufacturers and exporters were selected worldwide. The high added value ecosystem will help create 10000 new employments with high added value and the generation of an additional revenue of more than 6.5MMdh. it will contribute also to the emergence of pioneer professions with high added value like iron smelting, aluminum smelting, pressurized aluminum injection, aluminum refining or machine operations. The national industry will benefit from transfer of technology in fabrication of new parts development of new techniques in a framework covering all the automobile chain.
