Harti Azelarab président de la FENELEC

A few weeks after his election as head of the National Federation of electricity and electronics in Morocco (FENELEC) Azelarab El Harti gave Industrie du Maroc his understanding of the sector, his strategic priorities, as well as his philosophy of bringing together all players of this dynamic sector.

IDM: What prospects do you foresee for the electricity sector?

Azelarab El Harti: Activities related to the electricity sector, just like those related to water, will continue to experience a steady growth due to the very nature of these activities. They are high added-value sectors and are easily exportable. Also, in electricity, Morocco has advanced skills at all levels, from the technician to the doctor through the engineer. Concretely, we have in our country the skills to manufacture any electrical component, as complex as it may be.

What will be your priorities as president of the Federation?

All these elements make it important to organize and create synergies in this sector. In this light, my slogan as president of FENELC is: “involved member, strong associations and distinguished Federation”. This is the direction I’m going to take during my mandate in the Federation. Besides, I will strive to welcome more members and to integrate young people in governance bodies. Seniors will contribute their skills and knowledge while the youth will contribute their energy and ambition.

Is there a distinction according to the size or importance of member companies?

We need everyone to develop our sector, both large and small. A sector needs all its components. As an illustration, we need powerful aircraft carriers with wide range of action, as well as fighter and refuelling planes that will accompany them.

How do you intend to resume dialogue with FEMADEL?

I will listen to both sides; see everyone’s expectations and reconcile these expectations carefully. My wish is that every force of the sector unites under the same body. All actors are important and everybody will win in unity.
