The average agricultural season this year did not hinder Morocco to maintain its first place as a non EU exporter of vegetables to EU, according to Eurostat’s data. In details, during the first four months of the year, the Kingdom provided to the 28 EU countries, 309,388 tons of vegetables worth 362.4 million Euros, an increase of 20% in volume and 14% in value, figures that place Morocco ahead of Egypt and Turkey in the ranking of the leading vegetable providers to the EU. Thanks to the important volume of tomatoes exported that Morocco managed to pass her competitors. From January to April, Morocco provided 177 686 tons of EU’s tomato imports from other countries.
