Moroccan Information Technopark Company, the managing company of Technopark, celebrated the 15th anniversary of Technopark Casablanca, incubator of young Moroccan enterprises where cultural industries connect with information technology and communication through the Green tech.

The Casablanca Technopark just put out its 15th candle at its 8th edition technoftour, with the presence of more than 200 business leaders from Technopark and Moulay Hafid Elalamy Minister of Industry, Trade, investment and the digital economy. According to Omar Balafrej Director of technopark Moroccan Information Company (MTIC) Technopark’s managing company “We started in 2001 with the first Casablanca Technopark which represented the first incubator of Moroccan enterprises, it hosted throughout its 15 years of existence not less than 900 start-ups, and the Casablanca Technopark saw the birth of two others in Rabat and Tangier, which explains the success of this kind of structure.»
Technopark mainly covers three areas: The Green Tech, the cultural industry and the communication and information technology. What differentiates Technopark from other offshore zones such as Casanearshore or Technopolis is that they offer large spaces at a higher cost than Technopark, since they are rather dedicated to big enterprises, while Technopark can host small enterprises in the Offshoring field to setup their business

before turning to the other two structures.

Techno park is not a competitor of the other zones but rather is there to incubate new enterprises that benefit from the providing price of 50 DH per square meter, and this for the first 18 months of rent. Thus, they have available meeting and conference rooms, which encourages them to focus on their business. The startups were able to achieve a turnover of 800 million DH by 2000 young employees with an average age of 30years.Technopark hosts some SMEs who according to Omar Balafrej pay more than startups. The surplus helps to subsidize small enterprises that have just been setup, but the benefits these companies enjoy are several such as communication in all Technopark media and organized training by the latter who intends not to stop there, according to Omar Balafrej. For him, the priority is to benefit the concept of Technopark to other cities especially Marrakech and Agadir which hosts a lot of startups in NTC. But, « the Wilayas need to find enough spaces so we can have the same success of Casablanca Technopark, »he affirmed.
